Allan is widely known in his past role as 4X4 Australia Magazine's Technical Editor of 15 years and as a judge of 4X4 Wagon of the Year and 4X4 Ute of the Year.
Allan is passionate about providing well researched, accurate and interesting information for the benefit of all visitors to this website.
He continues to contribute travel stories, photography, test reports and technical articles to a number of publications and websites.

| Glenn Torrens loves to remind OutbackTravel Australia editor Allan Whiting of when they met in 1985 - when Glenn was doing school work experience at Overlander Magazine! Glenn went on to train as a high school Design and Technology teacher but couldn't resist the lure of magazines. He has contributed to a number of publications for nearly two decades.
A hands-on car nut, Glenn has restored and rebuilt many vehicles and is now manufacturing his own design tray back camper and camper trailer range, GT Campers.
