TJM FOX SHOCKS

TJM has entered the monotube arena

At Outback Travel Australia we’re big fans of monotube shock absorbers. All our testing over the past 20 years shows that they have better bump and rebound control than twin-tube types, run cooler and fade less.

We’ve been using Bilstein monotubes on our 75 Series tray-back for the past four years and these dampers refuse to quit. They were tested on the Sydney Shock Absorbers’ dyno at 86,000km and showed almost-new characteristics. They’ve done another 20,000km of bush travel since then.

Check out our explanation of the differences between twin-tube and monotube dampers.

TJM has teamed up with Fox - best known for its lineup of off-road racing dampers - to produce the TJM Fox monotube range. There are models available to fit 50-75mm lifted Jeep Wrangler JK, Nissan Patrol GQ and GU, LandCruiser 76, 78 and 79 and 80 and 105 Series. More models are in the pipeline.

The TJM Fox range is designed around a 50mm tube, with rubber bushings and 46mm shaft-mounted and floating pistons. The shaft is 16mm diameter hard-chrome-plated alloy steel.

These new monotubes are designed to mount 'upside down', so the single-wall tube is better protected from flying stones than is the case with conventionally-mounted dampers.

TJM Fox shock absorbers are manufactured in the USA and come with a three-year, 100,000km warranty.
