This Queensland company is exporting Aussie-made slide-on campers to Europe

Although Trayon campers have been exported to Europe since 2005, these campers were mainly for the French market. Recently, the contract for Trayon and Traytek Campers in Europe has been picked up by another company and henceforth Trayon (Europe) will be based in Switzerland, to supply all of Europe.

A new showroom and warehouse has been built in Wittnau, Switzerlandand and three demonstrator campers were sent from the Trayon Factory on the Sunshine Coast to Trayon Europe.

Trayon was tested and certified to use the 'Aussie Made' logo on its range of campers to show the world what Aussie ingenuity and manufacturing can do.

The Trayon and Traytek campers sent to Europe were top-of-the-line Diesel-Deluxe models, with Webasto cabin heating. Lithium battery technology that Trayon Campers helped develop with Redarc Electronics and Revolution Batteries was also included, along with some of the newest Trayon accessories, including Trayon Out-house ensuite enclosures, grey water tanks, auxiliary water tanks and drawer kitchen benches.

Vernon van der Walt from Trayon Campers was sent over to help set up the vehicles and the showroom/warehouse with Trayon Europe representatives Ruedi and Heidi Hort.

The new Ford Ranger is an international vehicle so it was the obvious choice for the new demonstrator fleet. Each camper was sent with a heavy-duty Duratray aluminium tray, to ensure the best fit in a market that is new to the concept of a work vehicle being used also for recreation.

Trayon Europe displayed its new range at the 'Abenteuer & Allrad' show in Bad Kissingen, in Germany. This show is the largest off-road and adventure show in Europe, averaging 65,000 visitors over three days.

The new company's appearance at the show was a success and led to an instant expansion of the dealer network. There are now Trayon Dealers in two locations in Switzerland, another in the UK, two in Germany and one in France.

Trayon Europe and Trayon New Zealand may soon be joined by Trayon Canada. An initial Trayon model is on its way to an Aussie Trayon owner who has moved to Canada and wants to use the Trayon’s superior off-road-capable, light-weight and compact concept, instead of what is on offer in Canada at the moment. This camper is being fitted to a new Dodge Ram that will be used to test the Canadian market at some shows.

With Trayon Camper number 1000 scheduled in the first batch for 2017 and the development of the next phase of the Traytek design, Trayon HQ is a very busy place.

The company is proud to be Australian, manufacturing Aussie products for this country and the rest of the world.
