Screw-in Tent Pegs
Bush Yarns and Poetry

Bush Poetry by Verna McKenzie

Only 20 years of service before the kettle sprung a leak,
How dare they charge $5 for a kettle when the metal was so weak,

It was sad to see the grieving couple standing by his grave,
With little Cedric and Bugger being oh so very brave,

And the woeful, mournful singing at the end,
It was a fitting soulful service for their tinny little friend,

But when their grief is over and they summon up more cash,
They’ll buy a lucky shiny new one who’ll go on their next bush bash!
