DRIVING/TOWING ACTIVE CALIBRATION BRAKE CONTROLLER FROM REDARC Trailer Brake calibration without tears |
Tow-Pro Elite has Active Calibration that constantly monitors the direction of travel, removing the need for an initial calibration process.
Redarc has released a new-generation Tow-Pro electronic brake controller with Active Calibration.
Like the previous generation Tow-Pro, the Tow-Pro Elite provides users with the ability to swap between an automatic mode (inertia sensing) for highway driving conditions and user-controlled mode for off-road driving.
Active Calibration constantly monitors the direction of travel, removing the need for an initial calibration process.
The unit will calibrate even without a trailer attached, while still being able to be mounted in any orientation.
It can operate electric and electric/hydraulic trailer brakes, without manual selection, with power supply from 12- or 24-volt vehicle systems.
The unit is said to be ADR21 compliant when installed as directed.
Tow-Pro Elite has a RRP of $350.
Circuit breaker wiring kit
To coincide with the launch of Tow-Pro Elite, Redarc has released a circuit breaker wiring kit designed to make installing a brake controller easier.
The kit features wiring and connections to exceed the requirements of a three-axle electric trailer brake controller setup.
The battery connection wire has conduit, heat shrink and crimp already attached and the brake controller connection is pre-crimped with heat shrink.
For connecting to the brake controller a butt-splice crimp and heat shrink are provided. Redarc recommends soldering the joint after crimping to ensure a good electrical connection.
There’s a rubber boot to cover the circuit breaker and protect against accidentally shorting of the terminals.
The kit also contains a detailed wiring diagram explaining the installation. RRP is $69.
