This new design suits most trailers and offers easy coupling.

McHitch has come up with a new design that promises easy coupling and uncoupling. It suits trailers with electric brakes or override mechanical and hydraulic brakes.

This new design resembles a heavy truck Ringfeder coupling, in that the receiver on the trailer has a concave face that helps direct the coupling pin into the locking device.

The difference is that the coupling pin is horizontal and locks with a latch and a key-lockable securing pin.

It’s a very low-profile design, so it won’t foul the doors of wagons or ute tailgates.

McHitch Uniglide Automatic Trailer Couplers come in two-tonnes, 3.5-tonnes and 4.5-6-tonnes trailer ATM sizes.

It’s also compatible with most weight-distribution-bar arrangements.

Because the McHitch unit incorporates a universal joint it’s capable of more than 90-degrees of movement in any axis, making it ideal for off-road use.

The makers claim that hooking up is simply a matter of reversing the coupling pin into the receiver on the trailer, then fitting the securing pin, chains and electrical connector.
